Sugary foods and drinks have more carbs than any other foods, which is why people who consume a lot of sweets are more likely to have plaque. 

How to Prevent Plaque

The answer to preventing plaque begins with changing your diet. Cutting back on sweets and other high-carb foods, including white bread and pasta, can help reduce plaque in your mouth. Avoiding these foods is only one small step in resolving plaque problems. The best solution is still brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing daily, along with visiting your dentist for regular dental checkups.
